About Us

Business History

Aquila Motors was founded in 1958 by William “Bill” Aquila Sr., on the corner of Orchard and Henry streets in New Haven, CT. In 1964, he moved his business to its present location at 6 Fountain Street, in the heart of Westville. As his family grew, his sons worked alongside him, learning the business from the ground up. Bill’s grandson eventually joined the business as well.

Bill was an excellent mentor as well as a knowledgeable mechanic, but as his son and grandson will attest, it was his fine example as a man that they appreciated most. Bill founded his business on not only excellent repair service, but also on quality customer service.
Honesty, integrity, and friendly service are the hallmarks of Aquila Motors, and those virtues continue today. Upon Bill’s passing in 2006, his son, Tom Sr., and grandson, Tom Jr., decided to continue the tradition of Aquila Motors. As a true family business, we strive to build a relationship with our customers and do what is best for your vehicle, your safety, and your budget.

About the Shop

To keep pace with the constant changes in the automotive industry, our mechanics continue their education and are regularly recertified. Our diagnostic equipment is also updated to aid in a fast return of your vehicle. Our six-bay garage allows us to take on large jobs, such as engine and transmission replacement, and we can also handle large volume and fleet accounts.

At Aquila Motors we’re more than happy to change your oil. We keep a large stock of new tires for sale, and we are capable of mounting and balancing your tires, as well as aligning your vehicle.

  • We recycle paper, plastic products, and scrap metal
  • We recycle our waste oil and use it to heat the shop
  • We do charitable work to help dogs without homes
  • We use high efficiency lighting and equipment
When you choose Aquila Motors, you’re choosing a family business that not only cares about our customers, but our community as well.
